What We Offer
Our
Services
01
Minor Surgical Procedures and Medicine
Minor surgical procedures can be performed including castrations and laceration repair. We can treat and medically manage colic cases for which surgery is not needed.
03
Pre-Purchase Exams
Purchasing a horse can be a huge financial and time investment commitment. A pre-purchase exam, or PPE, can help determine if a horse is right for you. This is based off of a number of different factors and your level along with the intended use of the horse will also be considered. The role of the veterinarian is to not "pass or fail" the horse, but help you make an informed decision.
05
Imaging
Double M Veterinarian is equipped with a portable digital radiographic unit. This means that the digital radiographs that are taken can be viewed immediate after. We are also equipped with a portable ultrasound which is used for reproduction, colic, tendons, and more.
07
Coggins and
Health Certificates
Traveling for horses, going to an auction, or just staying around town, both coggins and health certificates are important part of that. We are able to provide the proper paperwork and testing.
02
Lameness Evaluations
Lameness is a common problem among equine athletes and we have the ability to diagnose and treat lameness issues. Lameness exams involve and overall evaluation, jogging and flexing, peripheral nerve blocks, and as times our radiographic unit as well.
04
Reproductive Services
Dr. Montone has a high interest in reproduction, along with the knowledge and techniques that goes along with it. We offer artificial insemination with frozen or cooled shipped semen. In addition, we will manage and trach your mares reproduction cycle throughout the season.
06
Parasite Control
Testing, treating, and prevention of internal and external parasites are a crucial part of a horses health regime. Our process is to run a fecal to determine the parasite count along with the specific type of parasite. From there we will determine the proper protocol for treatment.
08
In-House Lab Work
Double M Veterinarian is equipped to run multiple forms for bloodwork including a complete blood count and a blood chemistry. Other lab work includes a uranalysis and parasite screening.
